The Staff of Life Exhibit Wed 1 Sept 2021
12th September 2021 @ 11:00 am - 31st October 2021 @ 5:00 pm
| £5A new exciting exhibit in line with edible Woodbridge is our ‘The Staff of Life exhibit’ which highlights how flour as a raw material is used for the creation of bread and explains how people/families were reliant on its supply for low-cost survival.
It features a collection of period baking utensils, associated particularly with the baking of bread, and archival documents reflecting the importance of flour as a staple food in England. As well as providing historical context and reminiscence triggers, the display provides a link into the food science topics that the Museum is developing within its digital offering. The objects are accessioned as part of the museum’s permanent collection and will be displayed in a mock kitchen as if in use. The documents, images and interpretation forms a backdrop to this tableau.
