Fantastic Easter Egg Hunt 2023

The Annual Woodbridge Tide Mill Easter Egg Hunt took place on Saturday 8 April. It was another great success as, yet again, nearly 100 children of all ages and their families came along on a bright day to hunt for hidden egg pictures spread around Woodbridge’s Historic Riverfront at Woodbridge Tide Mill, Woodbridge Museum and The Longshed. The eggs featured were all from bird species local to the riverfront.

Organiser, Tide Mill Museum Education Lead Tassa Deparis commented “I had so much fun hiding the pictures around Whisstocks Place and working with the museums that nestle on the riverside to make this event happen. There was such a buzz along the riverfront! It was wonderful to hear local families enjoying the museums as much as the egg hunt, including first time visitors. It was heartening to see the community come together, enjoy the Hunt, the river, the museums, share a little chocolate, and maybe, if like me they were still getting to know them, remember a River Deben bird’s name or two!“

Woodbridge Tide Mill Charitable Trust Chairman, John Carrington added “I’m so glad that, in our second year, the Hunt seems to be becoming a popular regular event. I’d like to thank our Education Lead, Tassa Deparis and our volunteers as well as those at Woodbridge Museum and the Longshed not forgetting the East of England Co-op for sponsorship.

The four local attractions; Woodbridge Tide Mill Museum, Woodbridge Museum, Woodbridge Riverside Trust, and Woodbridge Art Club will work together with 5th Woodbridge Sea Scout Group and the Ship’s Company as The Historic Riverside Group with the objective of promoting Woodbridge Historic Riverside as a destination for visitors.
