New Education Lead for Woodbridge Tide Mill Museum

Woodbridge Tide Mill is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Education Lead who will continue the great work of Heather Sheehan in bringing the story and ecological relevance of the Mill to young people.

The new Lead, Tassa Deparis is an educator and facilitator, having worked with and for primary and secondary schools for over a decade. Tassa explains, “Having regularly taken my son to the Tide Mill since he was 6 months old, I am thrilled to be joining the team. When it re-opened its doors in the pandemic, it felt like the heart of Woodbridge was beating again. The Tide Mill is truly special. It is an engineering marvel and an integral part of East Anglia’s history and landscape, as well as being one of my favourite places to view the beautiful River Deben and all the wildlife it has to offer. It is not only worthy of preservation for future generations to enjoy, it is alive, still working and providing flour locally. There are such rich learning opportunities for all and I am so excited about continuing the development of its educational and outreach offering for young visitors and their designated adults.”
