An Eveninbg at the Tide Mill 15_7_15-4987If you know of anyone who may be interested in becoming a warden at the Tide Mill, please have a word and get them to be in touch with me – 01394 382815 or nigelp.barratt@btinternet.com.  Because of the regular commitment, it is a paid position but, as we all know, our wardens are equally volunteers.

We are still in need of one or two more volunteers to do guiding at the Mill.   It needn’t be onerous, just once or twice a week for an hour or so.  There’s plenty of people who will help anyone get familiar with the Mill, and for those who enjoy interaction with people, it can be an enjoyable experience, as well as helping the Mill. If you are interested, please contact Wendy Reid – wendyjillreid@gmail.com.

Millie the Tide Mill Mouse adjusts her crown and waves regally at her subjects as she reflects on the Woodbridge Carnival AKA her Coronation…

So earlier this month, the events team at Choose Woodbridge put on the Woodbridge Carnival on The Abbey School Playing Fields to celebrate the 500th birthday of Thomas Seckford who originally owned my beautiful Tide Mill… So a big happy birthday to Mr Thomas Seckford.

So you’ll never guess what happened at the Carnival… I put on my finest Queen costume and those nice people at Woodbridge haart Estate Agents liked it so much that they officially crowned me Woodbridge’s 2015 Carnival Queen of haart!! But the best thing about it all is that as my present for becoming Queen, Woodbridge haart gave my lovely Tide Mill a HUGE cheque for £500! I’ve asked the Tide Mill Trust for One Direction wall paper for my room and a speed boat. Fingers crossed.

After I was crowned Queen of haart there was lots of dancing and games and displays in the main arena and then the very cool local musicians, Peter Hepworth, Charlie Law and Rhiannon Mair played music and sang as people relaxed in the sunshine.

At 10pm there was the most staggeringly brilliant fireworks display I have ever seen. I was at home at the Tide Mill by then as it was past my bedtime, but I was allowed to stay up in my PJs to watch the fireworks as a treat. It was the most beautiful and magical thing I have ever seen. Just when we thought it had finished there were more explosions of colour soaring through the sky and reflected in the river. It was sooo good!

I heard that the team at Choose Woodbridge needs our help to raise the money to put on the fireworks again next year. Maybe I will put my speedboat money towards that. Yes, I can live without the speedboat but the wallpaper is non-negotiable! #OneDirection4eva #loveyouHarry

If you want to put some of your speedboat money towards next year’s fireworks please visit [LINK] and give what you can. As Queen I command you to donate at least £1 per person or I’ll cut aawwf your heads. Lol.

    Lots of love,

    Queen Millie xoxo
